02 / Leonida Atlas
A WHOLE WORLD.TO EXPLORE.
Open-source interactive atlas
A community map for exploring Leonida, organising landmarks and following the sources.
Leonida Atlas is an independent application about GTA VI’s territory. Search, filters, favourites, collections and personal notes give exploration a structure. Known information and approximate positions need to remain distinct: a useful map also explains its uncertainty.
An explorer’s personal data can stay in their browser, with export and restore options. The project illustrates a practical interface challenge: offering several levels of detail without overwhelming someone who simply wants to find a place.
Beyond the visual
THE IDEA. THE USE. THE DETAIL.
Explore with a clear direction
A dense map needs a clear hierarchy. Filters reduce noise, search leads to a point of interest and detail panels supply context. A broad overview and precise information should coexist.
Keep your own landmarks
Favourites, notes and collections turn a visit into a personal workspace. Export functions matter particularly when information is stored locally: they let users move or back up their work.
Make evidence visible
A community needs to distinguish facts, interpretations and unknowns. Connecting a landmark with its evidence supports trust. The same principle applies to professional directories and knowledge bases.
